Information, tools, guidelines to Inform and educate your customer – The Woman
MFIs enable the highest form of empowerment for women – by providing them with the economic wherewithal to jumpstart their journey towards progress and betterment.
All resources in this Section are dedicated to the same cause – the empowerment of Women.
In order to truly enable your customer and set her firmly on the path you want her to take which is one of progress and betterment, it is vital that members in your organization truly understand her milieu, needs and issues that she confronts.
What are her rights? How can she seek redressal for her problems?
How can she set up her own micro enterprise? What are taxation policies she will need to adhere to as the proprietor of her own Business?
What avenues are open for her to seek appropriate vocational training and upskill herself so she can truly put the loan that she takes for your organization to set her and her family on the path to economic betterment?
An empowered woman makes for a discerning customer. Discerning customers are responsible and make informed choices. And a discerning, responsible and informed customer base will help you enhance customer retention.
Herein lies the core of why it is imperative that your entire organization be attuned to the needs and issues of their customers, and solutions that they can provide by leveraging resources in this section.
Create that differentiator for your organization. Build true customer focus within your team. Actively propagate these resources within your organization to educate and inform your members, thereby helping them to add value to and empower their end customer – The Woman.
Based on an in-depth analysis of needs of Women across 145 villages in Karnataka (Study commissioned by Mahila Samakhya, 2008), and supported by research, key focus areas of concern for women in rural and semi-urban settings covered: Legal issues, Vocational training, Education of children, Self-employment, Sanitation and Health.
We focus our Resources in this Section on the following themes:
- Legal Support: Tools that your Staff can leverage to educate and inform your Customers about their Legal Rights.
- Entrepreneurship: Tools and Resources that your members can leverage to educate their customers and provide guidance regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment.
- Vocational Training: Links to Vocational training resources and organizations that your staff can recommend to their clients.
- Employment: Links to job search engines that your teams can leverage to point your customers to relevant employment opportunities.
- Health: Tools that your members can use to educate their Customers about basic health, hygiene and sanitation issues.
- Citizenship: Under this broad umbrella, find information that you can share with your Customers about various Government schemes, programs and useful resources.
What makes Resources in this Section Unique?
We understand the primary objectives of your staff – to acquire, retain and deliver excellent service to your Customer. We also understand the realities of their field work – their deliverables at the weekly / fortnight / monthly meetings with their customer, the locale of these meetings, the time available, the resource constraints, and so on…
We have designed Resources in this Section for your Staff to leverage and enrich their Field Meetings in a manner that is Quick, Readily Usable, Exciting and Engaging.
Most tools and resources have been creatively designed – as simple pamphlets, posters, Q&A sessions and Comic Books. Our guiding principles in creating these tools and resources have been:
- Delivery of the message / information in a brief, succinct manner.
- Exciting, engaging mode of message delivery in a manner that the Customers will find attractive and appealing.
